Founded in 2001, Camaya Partners is an M&A advisory firm with offices in Brazil and the US. We specialize in cross-border transactions, combining technical excellence with strategic vision, and providing comprehensive advisory services for complex business transactions.

João Eliezer Cunha Guimarães

Founding Partner

A founding partner of Camaya Partners, he brings more than 25 years of M&A experience advising shareholders and companies on strategic decisions. Throughout his career, he has led M&A engagements across a wide range of industries, with a focus on creating and preserving value. In corporate governance, he advises shareholders, boards, and senior management on strengthening decision-making processes and aligning strategy and management with long-term objectives. He serves on the board of Evertrend and led the restructuring of Montelac Alimentos S.A., in which he also acquired an indirect equity interest. Before founding Camaya Partners, he held executive finance positions at AT&T, IBM, and Lockheed Martin. He holds a degree in Business Administration from FEA-PUC/SP and an MBA from FIA-USP.

Junio Fuentes

Associate

Specialist in company valuation, Junio is associated with Camaya for special projects, having recently concentrated his work on infrastructure projects, especially in heavy construction, sanitation, oil and gas, and energy. He holds a degree in Public Administration from EAESP-FGV, with a master’s degree in business administration and a doctorate in finance from FEA-USP. He was co-author of the books “Financial Calculation of Treasuries” and “Credit – Analysis and Risk Assessment,” and professor of the “Portfolio Theory” course at Saint-Paul Institute of Finance.

Robson Freitas

Partner

Partner at Camaya Partners, he works in the mergers and acquisitions area. Previously, he was Vice President of Business and New Technologies at CTC – Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira, the world’s leading company in the development of sugarcane technologies. He also served as Director of Business Development Latin America at BP (British Petroleum), for 10 years across 5 business units. Before BP, he held leadership positions at global companies such as McKinsey & Co. and Enron International. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UnB-University of Brasília and has a master’s and doctorate (PhD) from the University of Texas. He also has post-graduate studies in Logistics and Transportation from the University of Miami and in Business Administration from McKinsey & Co in Clearwater, Florida.
