Founding partner of Camaya Partners and responsible for the M&A practice, João has solid expertise in corporate finance, developed over 27 years of professional experience in Brazil, USA, Mexico and the Netherlands. Throughout his career, he has advised numerous mergers and acquisitions in the segments of retail, technology, food and beverage, footwear, medical devices, among others. He is also a board member of Evertrend, Inc., as well as other consumer goods companies. He led the restructuring of Montelac Alimentos S/A., where he also had indirect equity interest. Prior to Camaya Partners, João held executive positions in Strategic Planning and Finance at AT&T, IBM and Lockheed Martin. Graduated in Business Administration from FEA-PUC/SP and MBA from FIA-Universidade de São Paulo.
Responsible for the Capital Markets practice at Camaya Partners and specialist in business valuation and feasibility studies for investment projects, Junio has recently concentrated his work on infrastructure projects, especially in heavy construction, sanitation, oil & gas and energy. He holds a degree in Public Administration from EAESP-FGV, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and PhD in Finance from FEA-USP. He was co-author of the books “Financial Calculation of Treasuries” and “Credit – Analysis and Risk Assessment”, and professor of the “Portfolio Theory” discipline for Saint-Paul Institute of Finance.
With 17 years of professional experience in finance, Luiz joined Camaya Partners in 2008, having previously worked in Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions and Strategic Planning at EcoSecurities, Rianta Capital, Lehman Brothers, Orient Global and Natura Cosméticos. With international experience in more than 19 countries in North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America, he was also founding director and board member of the Istanbul-based Milestone Capital Fund and responsible for the expansion of O’Neil Software to 16 Countries and the opening of the Latin American office in Brazil in 2001. Luiz was co-founder of the Agronova Fund in Oslo, focused on the agricultural and biofuel sectors, and is also currently a partner and CEO of Santa Fé Asset Management, a resource manager with European capital participation. He holds a full-time MBA from London Business School and a degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied after a 3-year period in Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil.
